About this Resource Guide

This Resources Guide is meant to provide information to instructors and students about E-Reserves and Textbook Reserves. The Health Sciences Library has three different types of Course Reserves available:

E-Reserves: Health Sciences Library staff regularly place PDF files of articles submitted by instructors online for student to access. Once an online Course Reserves Request is processed, students are able to log onto the library's website and view these article from a computer anywhere.

Hard copy Reserves: Some instructors place hard to find or multiple copies of popular textbooks required for courses. These can be materials that the library has in in its collection or personal copies of textbooks they may own. Once an online Course Reserves Request is completed, these items will be cataloged as Course Reserves and located behind the Service Desk at the entrance of the library.

ASAC Textbook Collection: This special collection of textbooks were established with funds provided by the Academic Support Advisory Committee (ASAC) and maintained with student fees. These are considered "permanent" reserve items and are kept at the library's Service Desk. ASAC texbooks are usually the most recent editions of textbooks and there may be up to 3 copies of each title available.
