Consumer health materials can help you provide information to your patients that they can understand and refer to later. You can refer your patients to the Health Sciences Library or Denver Public Library to find reputable sources of health information using computers with high speed, multi-media capable internet connections.
- MD Consult Easy to understand patient handouts with nice illustrations. Click on the "Patient Handouts" tab to search for and print information for your patients. Also, click on the "News" tab, then on "What Patients Are Reading" on the left for summaries of recent health articles in popular magazines. This resource is only available directly to patients in the Health Sciences Library.
- MEDLINEPlus Easy-to-read, multilingual materials, Flash tutorials, and other materials reviewed for accuracy and reliability of information by the National Library of Medicine.. Browse or search a catalog of links to consumer health information or just refer your patients here.
- Micromedex CareNotes Numerous handouts, in avariety of languages. Click on "CareNotes". Search for a keyword, or check under the "Hot Lists" tab to find and print materials used by specific UCH units. This resource is not available to patients, you must print handouts to give to them.
- Natural Medicine Comprehensive Database Quickly access evidence based information on herbs, supplements, and commercial products. Click on "Product Search", find the product in the alpha list or search for a product name for quickest access to a summary. At the bottom of the page click on Patient Handout. This resource is only available to patients in The Health Sciences Library.
