Digital Collections of Colorado: Policies

Featuring open access research, scholarship and creative works from the biomedical and healthcare disciplines

Content Scope

  • The repository aims to capture emerging unpublished scholarship and creative works of the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus authors/creators and to preserve and disseminate previously published works in a manner consistent with copyright law.
     
  • Author/creator submissions to the digital repository may include works including but not limited to conference papers and presentations, working papers, white papers, technical reports, awarded student research, musical compositions, art, performances, books, and journal articles.

  • In addition to the works of individual CU Anschutz Medical Campus authors/creators, the repository hosts select archival materials, generated by CU Anschutz Medical Campus  entities such colleges and departments, that document the history and intellectual life of CU Anschutz Medical Campus. The repository also contains digital collections created from the Libraries’ archival holdings to support teaching and research. 

Authorship/Creation

Included works/creations will usually be authored/created, in part or whole, by a CU Anschutz Medical Campus academic staff member, student, or entity. Content does not have to be authored by a CU Anschutz Medical Campus affiliate. For example, a campus unit may use the repository to post papers from a conference it sponsors, which includes authors from CU Anschutz Medical Campus and other institutions or organizations.

Accessibility and Access

The CU Anschutz Medical Campus Digital Repository is committed to providing long-term access to all deposited content by applying best practices for data management and digital preservation, while acknowledging the complexities involved in preserving digital information. 

Accessibility of the Work

Submitted works should reflect a good faith effort to meet web accessibility guidelines.
The Libraries reserves the right to modify the formatting of the work within the file to the extent necessary to meet these guidelines and best practices.

Access Options

The CU Anschutz Medical Campus Digital Repository is intended to expand the scope of scholarly resources available worldwide through the Internet. By default, all works submitted to the digital repository will be made openly accessible, with the following exceptions:

  • When blocked on a time-limited basis (up to a maximum of one year) with the understanding that access thereafter becomes unlimited.
  • When contract with sponsor prohibits disclosure for a fixed time limit.
  • Withdrawal of Works/Creations

 It is foreseeable that there may be circumstances under which it will be desirable to withdraw works/creations from view.

 

Rights of Author and the University

Author/Creator Rights

  • Authors/creators retain the right to request the withdrawal of their work from the CU Anschutz Medical Campus Digital Repository.

University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus Rights

  • The CU Anschutz Medical Campus Libraries reserve the right to withdraw works/creations from the CU Anschutz Medical Campus Digital Repository.
  • The CU Anschutz Medical Campus Libraries will make a good faith effort to notify the CU Anschutz Medical Campus -affiliated first author/first creator before withdrawing the work/creation and will provide the reason for the withdrawal.
